EKG & Phlebotomy Technician Training is a Nationally Certified program. This certified EKG/ Phlebotomy Class is entirely attended in-person and is available to students from Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Manhattan, NYC as well as all neighboring areas. Students will acquire complete hands-on training with professional medical equipment. Upon successful completion, the students will receive a graduation certificate and will be qualified to take National Certification Exam.

EKG Technicians (Electrocardiograph technicians) perform EKGs on patients under the supervision of a physician. Phlebotomy Technicians obtain blood and other specimens as ordered by a licensed health care provider, label the specimen collection tubes with patient's name and DOB, time of collection, collection source, etc..
The School proudly stands at an incredible 95% passing rate for National Certification Examinations ( NHA - National Healthcareer Association) and a 98% school graduation rate. The school encourages and supports all students in obtaining professional excellence in their field of work.

CURRICULUM
Introduction to Phlebotomy
A complete overview of specialization in blood drawing techniques along with understanding the responsbilities of becoming a phlebotomist. Understanding safety precautions and special needs of patients and learning to use effective measures of communication. Discussing why legal issues are important to a phlebotomist. Understanding OSHA, duties and performances of a phlebotomist, failure to perform an action and maintaing high integrity and confidentiality by following standard of care.
Phlebotomy Skills
The competency checklist involves the choice of equipment, proper techniques, care of specimens, hazards and complications involved, patient care and following the policies and procedures. Understanding the venipuncture procedures and specimen handling. Appropriately identifying patient, understanding the specimen type, timing the collection, quantity and integrity and finally transporting the specimen.
Phlebotomy Basics
To understand and learn the applications of phlebotomy in the modern world. Knowledge of basic human structure and understanding infectious diseases. Procedures and Equipment for Specimen and Blood Collection. Understanding the equipment needed to complete your blood collection procedure including supplies, trays, tubes, collection devices and other training materials. Following safety procedures and understanding the order of draw.
Basic Electrophysiology
Introducing the students to the core principles of cardiac electrophysiology, understading the terminology and concepts of mechanisms. Recording and interpreting electrocardiograms. Understanding the pacemaker rhythm, pacemaker spike, signals that represent electrical activity of the pacemaker and the interpretation of the pacemaker.

Electrocardiography
Reading and understanding a standard 12 lead electrocardiogram, different types of ECGs depending on the symptoms and heart problems, operating the ECG recording machine following standards and precautions. Ventricular Rhythm, and AV Blocks. Learning about the partial or complete interruptions of impulse transmission from atria to ventricles, heartblock rhythms and diagnosis of a hearth block.
Cardiovascular System
Understanding The primary function of the heart and blood vessels, the normal structure of blood vessels along with the knowledge of arteries and veins. Sinus Rhythm, Atrial and Junctional Rhythm. Detailed understanding of rhythm anatomy, tachycardias, junctional rhythms and sinus rhythms, arrhythmia, and the prognosis. To be able to easily define any problem in the rate of rhythm of a person’s heartbeat.
